Looking at social media feeds it is easy to feel discouraged. You see bright studios and perfectly organised spaces that look like they have come out of a magazine, while our reality is often a corner reclaimed from the kitchen table or a narrow space, almost like a cupboard.

I have learned, however, that lack of space does not have to be a limitation. On the contrary, it is a condition that pushes you to focus on what truly matters. In my small corner I have everything I need, between the crochet hook and the computer. It is proof that an idea does not need a lot of square metres to become real and that the substance of a project does not depend on the size of the desk.

Giving shape to the vision

My creative process always begins far from the crochet hook. It starts from an inner vision that comes to life through illustration. I take time to observe the character and understand its personality as I draw it, perceiving its details before they even become tangible.

Transforming that image into a three-dimensional shape is the phase that challenges me most. It is a journey that stimulates and amazes me every time: seeing something come to life in my hands that before existed only in my head. It surprises me to see how yarn manages to give body to an idea, turning a line into a creature you can touch.

A choice of consistency

In this search for balance I found my ideal dimension in a single type of yarn. It is not a rule I want to impose, but a way of working in which I feel comfortable today. I use Hobbii's Pica Pau yarn because its texture and matte tones respond exactly to what I am looking for.

Knowing the material deeply gives me the calm I need to dedicate myself entirely to shape. That dusty palette has become a safe harbour, a way to give coherence to my world and ensure that the finished character remains faithful to how I had imagined it.

Creating with what you have

This very contained dimension of mine reminds me every day that creativity is an act of intention. You do not need to wait for a perfect studio or an infinite choice of materials to start giving life to an idea.

I hope my patterns can accompany you in your creative time, reminding you that all it takes is a cosy corner to make a story come to life, one stitch at a time.
